SIWN R&D Institute conducts national and international collaborative scientific research and development (R&D) in collaboration with public and private organizations worldwide. This is implemented by its research arm Xiaglow Research, which has been established since 2003. SIWN R&D Institute operates the following programs:

• international collaborative R&D projects,

• international Sabbaticals from academics,

• international visit stays from researchers.
